Someone shared the importance of having an active mind to ward off dementia.
My opinion is that Dementia is a complexed neuro degradation illness.
It is more than just keeping an active mind.
1. Stenosis in Brain Arteries and Veins narrowing can also cause it. It's everyone's "luck".
2. Keeping ourselves well hydrated, exercise, no 3 fiends.
At all times, keep blood pressure, LDL, triglycerides n diabetes in-check.
3. Just make sure to also guard our head against severe head-blows.
4. Recently saw someone who had brain stenting, caused by brain swelling or cerebral edema. It is an increase of pressure in your head that may disrupt the blood-brain barrier.
5. Regular (daily) bowel movement. Keep our blood clean from excess fat and iron accumulation.
A majority of water is absorbed into our blood stream through our small intestines.
The more waste, fats & rotting decays piled up at our stomach n intestines, the more contaminated it gets into our blood.
If you notice, even keep waste food in the waste bin for a day, one could smell foul smell. What more in our body for few days!
6. Regular blood donations replenishes the new blood and reduce iron accumulation in our blood.
Each time I went for my regular blood donation, the nurses will keep asking us to replenish our water hydration. I wonder why? still thinking?
7. Alcohol-related 'dementia' is a type of alcohol-related brain damage (ARBD). Excessive alcohol consumption over a lengthy time period can lead to brain damage, and may increase your risk of developing dementia.
8. Just make sure to also guard our head against severe head-blows.

But to each his own way to good health.
